About Morgan Pennington

Formerly known as Morgan Moreno

Raised in Georgetown, Texas, Morgan grew up with an early love for horses. She competed in 4-H in a variety of events and found the stock horse discipline through opportunities at Texas A&M University, where she competed on the Ranch Horse Team and Horse Judging Team, winning multiple national and world championship titles.

Along the way, Morgan studied under mentors like Dr. Doug Householder, Dr. Jennifer Zoller, Dr. Dennis Sigler, and many other faculty at Texas A&M. They encouraged her to pursue her goals as an equestrian professional.

Morgan has always had a heart for the riders that want to improve. She was able to pursue a master’s degree in animal science with a focus on equestrian sport while coaching the Texas A&M Ranch Horse Team through a graduate assistantship. During this time, she also worked as a riding instructor for Still Creek Ranch, in Bryan, Texas, a boys and girls home for children recovering from crisis situations. Morgan was then able to start teaching ranch horse lessons and clinics professionally out of the facilities at Still Creek.

The desire to advance her training skills in the reined cow horse discipline led Morgan to then work under multiple NRCHA professionals as an assistant trainer. After meeting her now husband, Adam, Morgan accepted a job teaching and coaching at Laramie County Community College, where her team achieved many regional and national awards.

In 2023, Morgan was selected for the AQHA Emerging Leader Award. She continues to strive toward positively influencing the horse industry, and constantly learning more to improve both her horse training and her teaching.
